Former Carers
Supporting you when you are no longer in a caring role
We understand that the most difficult part of your caring role can be when the person you care for passes away or moves into residential care. Many carers feel empty and, particularly if they have cared for someone for a long time, are unsure about picking up everyday life again.
If this happens to you, rest assured that we will continue supporting you for up to 12 months, if you wish.
The level of support we offer to Former Carers changes over the 12 months we are able to support you. To find out more click here.

It is a very informal group and many people have gone on to become friends. More details about the times and venues of the lunches are in the quarterly magazine.

The Get About Club
Ann and Christine both former Carers, run an independent social group which organises regular meetings, trips and activities just for former carers. It's a great way of meeting new friends and people that really understand the importance of having support when your caring role comes to an end.
The idea of the group is to find people you could socialise with and perhaps go to a show, a film, on a shopping trip or just meet up for a chat.
